Paw Print will confirm and provide a certificate with proof that the parents are in fact who Finger Lakes say they are. This helps to ensure that you will be getting a healthy puppy.
Their Sheepadoodle puppies for sale in New York will be cleared of common genetic diseases associated with the breed through parentage. The results and access to a dog’s DNA will be granted so adopters may speak to a geneticist at any time regarding the puppy’s results. Paw Prints Genetics saves DNA samples so as new tests become available as the owner then the adopters can choose to pay for additional testing.
Finger Lake puppies are raised with the Puppy Culture program. Puppy Culture is a curriculum for both dog breeders and puppy owners alike, dedicated to raising stable, mentally sound dogs. Their Sheepadoodle puppies are raised using Puppy Culture’s protocols such as manding, resource guarding prevention, and bio sensory exercises. Puppies owners go home with exercises to continue this training philosophy.
Additionally, all Sheeapdoodlepuppies visit a vet prior to being placed in forever homes. Puppies will have first shots, dewormed, microchip, and certification from the vet that they are healthy. Each puppy will also go to their new home with a 24-inch puppy crate.
Finger Lake’s puppy take-home package will also include a list of recommended grooming tools, a blanket that has the litter and mothers’ scent, a toy, a small bag of puppy food, and a canvas tote to carry the pup in.
Furthermore, each puppy will also be microchipped with an AKC Reunite Microchip. Finger Lake prepays enrollment for all their Sheepadoodle puppies. Each puppy that leaves from their breeding program has a Microchip that is registered to Finger Lake as well as the new owner.
They do this to make sure that their dogs always have their support. This step helps to make sure that one of Finger Lake’s puppies will never be placed in a shelter or rescue. 3. River Valley Doodle New York
River Valley Doodles is a family run and operated Sheepadoodle breeder located in Southern New York state, near Pennsylvania. Their puppies are born in their personal home and not in a separate outbuilding. They are pets and not ‘kennel dogs’.
River Valley spends a considerable amount of time socializing the Sheepadoodle puppies so they should quickly acclimate to their new homes. River Valley strives to find the right home for the puppy and the right puppy for adopters.
They always want to meet new owners and do their best to deliver puppies for those that are in urban areas, such as New York City, or difficult to travel to areas.
River Valley Doodles start crate training their puppies at 3 to 5 weeks old, so by the time adopters get their Sheepadoodle puppy, they are on their way to being completely crate trained and potty trained. River Valley puppies go to their new homes with their first shots and deworming done by a veterinarian.
Additionally, River Valley will provide adopters with veterinarian information and any additional records that are available. It is recommended that adopters visit a vet when they receiver their puppy to make sure the puppy gets fully vaccinated and to ask the vet any questions that might arise.
Although the puppies receive deworm treatment multiple times before being able to be taken to their new homes, puppies tend to be susceptible to getting parasites. Adopters should bring a stool sample to a veterinarian to check for any issues and make sure their new puppy is healthy.
River Valley does not recommend the use of over-the-counter deworming medications, as they do not work consistently – see a vet for deworming medication and follow the directions carefully.
In addition, a contract, which includes a 2-year health guarantee against hereditary issues and receipt for payment, is required for the purchase of all their Sheepadoodle puppies in New York. Adopters must also agree in the contract to spay/neuter, to keep the puppy from harm to the best ability, and make sure veterinarian care is kept up to date.
Adopters also will need to agree to work with a dog trainer if necessary, to help them, the family, and the new puppy family member adjust. While River Valley is willing to take back any of their Sheepadoodle puppies, they feel it is unfair to any puppy that is returned because the owners didn’t take the time to go to puppy socialization classes and retain a good dog trainer to come into the home.
Also, if adopters have children, they must be ready to handle a puppy that nips and bites. Some Sheepadoodle puppies don’t do this, but most go through a phase where they think kids are their littermates and they nip and wrestle.
To adopt a River Valley Sheepadoodle puppy, an application must first be filled out in full. This is to make sure that adopters are serious about taking care of a new pet, understand the breed, and make sure the new puppy will be well taken care of and loved in their new home.
Once an application and submitted, a deposit then must be paid to hold a spot on an upcoming litter waitlist. Puppies are chosen in order of deposit received.
River Valley likes to keep in touch with their adopters and offer their support when it comes to raising one of their puppies and also like to be updated on the progression of their dogs in their new homes.
Pricing for River Valley Doodles puppies varies depending on size, color, and gender. For more information on these prices, deposits, and any other questions, contact them directly via email or their website.
