Factors to consider for your Goldendoodle Boy Name
Below are some factors to consider before picking a dog name:
- Keep it extremely simple. Ideally, you should choose a name that is less than three syllables. If you choose a longer name, you may regret repeatedly calling to your dog all the time. If you choose a long name, make sure you have a short nickname.
- Don’t choose a name that resembles very common dog commands. Common commands are Yes, No, Good Boy, Sit, Down, etc. Your Goldendoodle will get confused by its name with the common dog commands.
- Make sure you can easily pronounce your Goldendoodle boy’s name. Also, make sure other that other key family members will have an easy time saying the name including children.
- Does your name have an easy nickname? When we get tired of calling our Goldendoodle “Kona”, we call him Coco. Make sure you have a good backup name because you will get tired of saying the same name over and over again!
- Avoid human names. Many people recommend that you avoid human names for your Goldendoodle. This is because other humans will get confused with your Goldendoodle if they have the same name. In addition, when you are yelling at your dog it won’t sound like you are yelling at another human and causing a scene.
How to name your boy Goldendoodle?
- Brainstorm. Carefully examine your Goldendoodle’s features including the fur, eyes, and coat color. Does anything stand out in particular?
- Make a list. The easiest way to name your dog is to create a top 10 list. Jot the names down and read them out loud. Does anything stand out to you?
- Draw from a hat. This is a spontaneous and fun way to choose your boy Goldendoodle’s name. After you compile a list, write the names on a piece of paper and draw from a hat! Leave it up to fate.
- Flip a coin – Deciding between two Goldendoodle names? Flip a coin if you can’t decide.
Conclusion
In summary, when thinking of Goldendoodle boy names make sure that you choose one that you like, is easy to pronounce, and short. However, if you choose the wrong dog name or the name doesn’t grow on you, you’re welcome to always re-name your dog. Chances are they are still going to be learning their name for the first couple of months anyways!
